PROJECT GROW
Our mission as a 501(c)3 non-profit is to cultivate opportunity, education, and inspiration in our community to value, access, and grow healthy food. Our organization began in 2011 with a desire to build programs educating local youth (many at-risk) on how to grow their own food and utilize it to prepare meals from the fresh harvest. We have built many community gardens for both education as well as production and are currently utilizing three in the Waverly area. We always share at least one-third of our produce each growing season with local food pantries to ensure that they have fresh, nutritious options for those in need. Our philosophy is "bringing community together" and we invest in our community and invest in our youth. We are extremely grateful to granting agencies in Upstate New York that have been generous allowing us to continue to do our good work in Tioga County. We will plan to have heirloom veggies and herbs available for purchase at this year's Arts and Ag Trail as well as a culinary sampling prepared from our fresh harvest.
