CAROL OSTRANDER

Marc Chagall said: “Great art picks up where nature ends.” I truly get inspired by ordinary, fleeting moments in nature—the ephemeral bloom on a flower, misty rivers, oceans, and clouds. I strive to capture and exalt these moments on canvas. Through this imagery, I hope to create a sense of awe and bliss in the viewer.

 

Many painters have influenced my style, but I am particularly inspired by Expressionist, Vincent Van Gogh, as well as the Hudson River Valley artists. Each evening after my café, Carol’s Art & Coffee Bar, closes, I return home to paint in my studio attic.
